The City of Columbus Junction has never before had RAGBRAI pass through town, so when it comes through on July 30th, they’re making sure they’re ready for the 10,000 riders.Organizer Brooklyn Milder said there’s been countless workers and volunteers making sure everything in the city is prepared for the influx of people, and she feels they are ready. As far as activities for the riders, she said they want the riders to ride across the swinging bridge, since that’s what Columbus Junction is most known for. They will also have vendors on Main Street, the “Old Columbus Clink” in front of the fire station, and an 18-foot tall bike, which has been to several RAGBRAI events, at the fair grounds. Milder hopes that by doing a great job, RAGBRAI will be encouraged to come through Columbus Junction in future races.
