Lisa Kuhn, 40, of Muscatine was hit by a driver while riding a bicycle Saturday morning.

Iowa State Troopers were called to Davis Avenue, south of 121st Street in Muscatine County at 9:41 a.m.

Iowa State Patrol says 28-year-old Ryan McKillip of West Liberty was traveling south on Davis in a 2000 Pontiac Bonneville when he hit Kuhn who also was southbound on Davis Avenue.

Kuhn was taken to the hospital and was pronounced dead from the injuries.

Kuhn was participating in the third annual “pEDaling for Pancreatic Cancer” bicycle fundraiser. The cycling event was scheduled to start at Pearl City Station in Muscatine. Riders had their choice of 100-, 65-, 30- or 15 mile routes. The funds raised were to support pancreatic cancer research.

No charges have been filed, but the crash remains under investigation by the Iowa State Patrol.
