7/20/04 (MORAVIA, Iowa) State Senator Keith Kreiman of Bloomfield (district 47) has been injured in a hit-and-run accident in southeast Iowa's Appanoose County. The incident happened just after five Tuesday afternoon two miles west of Moravia. The Appanoose County Sheriff says Kreiman was eastbound on his bicycle on Highway J-18 when he was hit from behind by a passenger car. The senator was thrown from his bike and injured. He was taken by private vehicle to Mercy Medical Center in Centerville for treatment. Sheriff Gary Anderson told KTVO Tuesday evening that Kreiman was treated for minor injuries and he believes the senator will be released from the hospital following treatment.
