A Waukee organization is raising money to install more bike racks in the city's parks.
The Waukee Leadership Institute wants to provide more bicycle parking options, citing an apparent need. It hopes to raise enough money for a rack in Ridge Pointe Park andGrant Park, and two in Centennial Park.
The three parks have the greatest need for parking, according to a news release from the organization. If more funds are raised, bike racks will alsobe installed in Warrior Park and Southfork Park.
Fundraising is ongoing at both corporate and individual levels. The Rotary Club of Waukee has committed $1,000, which will cover the installation of one bicycle rack, the news release says.
