A Mason City theft suspect who police say spit on an officer faces criminal charges.Tyler
Thompson, 18, was arrested Monday and charged with felony second-degree
theft, misdemeanor assault and misdemeanor interference with official
acts.
Thompson spit on a Mason City police officer on April 2
while the officer was questioning him about a stolen bicycle, according
to a criminal complaint.
He's also accused of running from plainclothes officers who allegedly identified themselves as police.
A
witness saw Thompson with a stolen bicycle on April 2 near Highway 122
and South Massachusetts Avenue on April 2 or April 3, according to the
complaint.
Thompson's next court hearing is April 17 in Mason City.
