Founders Irish Pub receives new Fat Tire Pit Stop

A new Fat Tire Pit Stop was installed at Founders Irish Pub in Bondurant just before the Chichaqua Valley Trail Grand Opening Celebration last weekend.

Founders Irish Pub is located near the new Bondurant Deport and within a few feet of the Chichaqua Valley Trail.

The Fat Tire Pit Stop is located in front between the entry and the patio and carries an array of tools and a tire pump top help with any trail-side repairs.

About the Fat Tire Pit Stop

The Fat Tire Pit Stop are provided by New Belgium Brewing and Iowa Beverage and are given to those bicycle-friendly establishments that love spreading the New Belgium goodness.

The Fat Tire Pit Stop are manufactured by Bike Fixtation, a company in Minneapolis.

Bike Fixtation was borne from real-world necessity. During a bachelor party pub crawl in 2009, where the founders were riding their bikes on a Saturday evening around 7 PM. One of the participants got a flat but no one had a patch kit or a tube in that size, and no bike shops were open. That experience demonstrated how much infrastructure is in place for cars but not for cyclists - they saw that as an opportunity.
