A fundraising effort has been started to repair and open the Jackson Street Bridge (aka the Green Bridge) in Des Moines on the Meredith Trail by the ball park -- it has been closed for two years. An account has been set up at the Des Moines Community Foundation so all the donations will be tax deductible and all used for restoration.
If you are tired of this bridge being an eyesore and being closed, please make out a check out to the Des Moines Community Foundation and in the subject line, put Friends of Jackson Street Bridge. Mail to the Des Moines Community Foundation, 1915 Grand Ave, Des Moines, IA 50309. Thank you so much for any donations you can give - the cost for restoration is $2,500,000.
