I am live at 63rd street and Tyler Avenue, which is just one block south of Railroad. The accident happened around 10 o'clock last night. What we know right now is that a white Chevy pick up truck was driving north bound on 63rd street and hit a bicyclist. There were actually two people bike riding on the far right side of the road when this happened. We only know that one of them was hit, we are still waiting to learn the condition of the second bicyclist. When our crew arrived at the scene last night... a bike was stuck under the front bumper of the truck. But you can see in the video that part of the windshield is shattered. The pickup truck driver's name has not been released. Now there is someone is the Polk county jail right now ...Arrested and booked around the time of the accident for a vehicle failing to yield to a pedestrian and leaving the scene of an accident. But we have not been able to confirm whether that is the suspect in this accident. At this point we're also still waiting to learn the victim's name and condition. I will be live here all morning trying to get new information. We'll bring you updates as soon as we hear anything. Elizabeth? Thanks Kim.
