A driver fled the scene after striking a bicyclist Monday night, police said.

The collision occurred around 11:15 p.m. at the intersection of East 14th Street and East Washington Avenue, crash reports show.

According to witnesses, a car was driving south on East 14th Street and turned west onto East Washington Avenue without using a turn signal or stopping for a red light.

The cyclist was riding north on the sidewalk of East 14th Street. He told police he saw the car at the last minute but didn’t have time to stop.

The car struck him and the next thing he remembered was waking up in the center of Washington Avenue, about 50 feet from the intersection, authorities said.

The car continued west on East Washington Avenue and has not been located.

The bicyclist refused medical treatment at the scene.
