39 towns in all if you count Elk Horn on the Karras Loop on Monday.
Per a RAGBRAI Facebook post: "This year RAGBRAI will pass through five towns that we have never visited before, including: Washington Township, Van Meter, Adelphi, Fremont and Birmingham.
We will also pass through Minburn, which we haven't visited since 1974."
