The Iowa Cyclocross Championships took place at Lions Park in Altoona on December 1st.

The race was hosted by Zealous Racing and the indeed put on a great show!

This was not the first time Lions Park has hosted the Championships, but Zealous eeked out quite a bit more mileage out of teh course while providing sweeping turns, power straight-aways, barriers, swoops, and lots of spectator friendly spots to watch.

Fog and a light drizzle started the day, but the course never became more than tacky as the temps warmed up for the afternoon races.

184 riders in total!

Sunday, the Zealous Clan offered up a FREE Bonus "Recovery" race near the Aquatic Center in Altoona. 80-ish racers brandished the newly laid out course which turned out to be more challenging than the Championship race course the day before.

Good fun was had by all at the "Hamm's Berr Guy" was positioned at the top of the back hill providing refreshments for those who stopped.

We'd love to see more races on this course. It has HUGE potential! Plenty of terrain, places to watch and park.

KUDOS to Zealous Racing and all who came out to play this weekend!
