Ames Police are asking for the public's help to locate a pickup truck that hit a bicyclist in the early morning hours of August 7th. Police say 22-year-old Tyler Anderson was riding near the intersection of Grand Avenue and 20th Street in Ames when he was struck by a northbound pickup truck. The truck did not stop to render aid. Anderson was found by an Ames Police officer responding to a different call and taken to Mary Greeley Medical Center and later transferred to Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. He suffered serious injuries an arm and his head. Ames Police believe the vehicle that hit Anderson was a white or light colored GM/Chevy pickup between the 1994 and 2004 model years. The truck is missing the passenger side outside rear view mirror and housing frame. If you have any information about the pickup truck you're asked to contact the Ames Police Department at 515-239-5133.
