:: BIKEIOWA DESTINATION ::
Make Malvern your destination for a day trip.
Malvern is on the
Wabash Trace trail
about 22 miles south of the trail head in Council Bluffs, IA. On Sept. 20 an Arts Festival will start with Pancake breakfast sponsored by the Malvern Volunteer Fire Department. The Malvern Betterment Association (MABA) will sponsor live music starting at 11:30 a.m. into the evening, along with beer & brats on Main Street. Our 2nd annual En Plein Air art competition (painting on location) will begin at 9:30 and final judging will be Sunday at 3:00. Artists will have the option of painting on the trail north of Malvern or in town. If they choose to paint on the trail they will have until 1:30, spending the rest of Sat & Sun in town painting. Seeking out the different artists was a high point for our locals last year. Other art vendors have been invited. Good Prize money for artists, fun to watch, good music & good people here at Malvern.
How to Bike there?
There are several trail-heads on the
Wabash Trace trail
. Here are a couple of options;
Park at the trail-head in Council Bluffs and ride through Mineola and Silver City (approx 22 miles one way)
Ride from Imogene to Malvern (13.6 miles one way)
Ride from Shenandoah through Imogene (22.5 miles one way
A detailed trail map with plenty of details can be found here:
