Rasmussen Bike Shop is proud to be the official bike shop sponsor of the Hy-Vee Triathlon. We've already seen bikes come in from all around the country and each day gets us more amped for the race. We'd like to tell you all exactly what we have planned to make this event an even greater success! At The Lake Pre-Race swims will be held on Friday, 8am-10am and 3pm-6pm at Grays Lake. Wetsuit guru Mac McEneary from Quintana Roo will be on hand to demo any of the Quintana Roo wetsuits. For those of you who are still searching for a wetsuit this would be a great time to find a last minute option. At Packet Pick-Up Rasmussen Bike Shop will be one of the only retailers at packet pick-up. We have ordered nearly $30,000 worth of product to be sure we have everything you could possibly need before the event. Clothing, nutrition, spare tubes, etc. We will have it all! Shop mechanic Brian Pottorff and triathlete Adam Thomson will be among our staff at packet pick-up to help you with any pre-race questions you may have. At Transition Our best mechanics- Terry, Jeff, and Matt, will be practically living at Grays Lake for this event. They will be available both the amateur and elite transition areas. These mechanics will be happy take care of any last minute maintenance work that may come up. We will also have a stock of items that you may have forgotten: including nutrition, water bottles, CO2 cartridges, bar end plugs, etc. On Course During the amateur event we will have a bike support station located at Jordan Creek mall. If you have an emergency the race director has given us the green light to help get on course. Brian and Sean are both experienced mechanics and will be happy to help. We will also be setting up two bike support stations during the elite events downtown Sunday afternoon. At The Expo The I.O.W.A. Expo will double as the finish line for all events at the Hy-Vee Triathlon. At this expo we have brought in an entire staff from Quintana Roo and Litespeed. Stop in and see the 2008 Lucero Ti, the 2008 Litespeed Archon, an entire run of wetsuits, and much more. We will have FIST certified fitting expert and triathlon coach Jennifer Boos from North Carolina on hand to discuss any fitting or tri-specific needs you may have. On top of all that we will have a full store and staff available for any bike-related purchases you'd like to make at the expo. At The Shop Our shop hours will be extended on Saturday the 16th, the day before the amateur and elite events. We will be open from 9am to 8pm. And, if you don't already know, we are located at 301 Grand Ave in West Des Moines. Just west of 63rd and Grand. We wish you all the best of luck, have a great time, kick some butt, and we'll see you out there this weekend! Please forward this on to anyone who might be interested.
