The BIKEIOWA crew stopped by Grinnell to see what Craig Cooper (Coop - owner of Bikes to You) had up his sleeve this year.
New Amenities - Sneak Peak
Coop has offered an upscale Charter Service for years and is constantly making it a better experience for those who want to have fun and ride their bikes without worrying about the logistics that comes with traveling across the state.
In addition to transportation, tent service, and bike repairs, this year Coop will offer TWO NEW Amenities that will make your trip more pleasant.- Shower Trailer
He built a custom trailer to house FOUR Female and FOUR Male Showers. Each shower has privacy and has 1500 gallons of on-demand hot water to make the post-ride experience even better. There will be THREE sinks at the rear of the shower too. Look forward to shorter shower lines and shorter walks as the shower house can only be used by those who are part of the Bikes To You Charter.
- Bunk House
A SEVEN room, FOURTEEN bed bunkhouse has been built to accommodate folks who want the best of the best. A comfortable mattress, air conditioner, multiple charging outlets, bike hooks, a folding table and cubbies for storage is what each bunk will offer. Just leave your stuff in the bunk each day and let Coop take it to the next town. Sorry - all seven rooms are already spoken for this year, but call to reserve one for next year!

Riding your bike across Iowa is fun. Let us take care of the logistics for you. We can get you to the start town with your gear and bike, set up a campsite each day, carry your bags from town to town and have a refreshment area ready and waiting for you. Some people want to carry all their bags with them but why do that when we are willing to take care of all that for you? Bikes To You has a longstanding tradition with RAGBRAI and is considered one of the best RAGBRAI Charter. In 1993 Bikes To You began its relationship with RAGBRAI by being invited to join as a Retail store and have mechanics out on the route. We started with one service car and a rider truck. In 1994 We started our Charter service with one rider truck. In 2011 we added a tent service and in 2014 we added RAGBRAI In Style an all hotel and transportation service. We now take many more vehicles and have a staff of over 40 staff to serve all our customers. In 2015 we were invited to join RAGBRAI Pre Ride and now get to preview the route with the RAGBRAI staff. We are a one stop shop for all your RAGBRAI needs from pre ride bike tune ups, transportation, during ride accessories and repairs, to post ride help getting home. Our products and services have evolved to meet the changing needs and wants of the participants on our RAGBRAI charter and the ride as a whole. Our campground charter service has been the most popular and longest running. All RAGBRAI charter services include parking in Grinnell, transportation from Grinnell to the start town, baggage service from overnight town to overnight town, and transportation from the end town back to Grinnell.

When Bikes to You opened in 1992, there were so few bicycles and so little product that we painted tire tracks in different colors on a white wall to make it look like the showroom was full. We started with a small but loyal following of customers who really wanted to see a bicycle shop succeed in Grinnell.
Two years later, Bikes to You was named an official RAGBRAI Bicycle Shop which enabled us to repair bikes and sell product along the route, ultimately setting us up to grow steadily for the next 18 years.
