Bicycle-Friendly

The Royal Mile was one of the first bars to install bike racks in downtown Des Moines. They reside in the Court Avenue District and offer 2 levels as well as an outdoor patio.
The Mile is where the Tweed Ride calls home. Many rides large and small make their way through the doors of the Royal Mile each year.

The Royal Mile opened on December 12, 2001 by local ownersFull Court Press. Described by the Des Moines Register as “Des Moines’ living room”, the Royal Mile has become the “local hangout” for many people in Des Moines.

The Mile has a comfortable atmosphere, great beer selection, and wonderful modern and traditional British dishes. The Mile has 28 ales and lagers on draft, over 120 bottled beers and over 115 single malt Scotches. So raise a pint and a ruckus with your mates at downtown Des Moines’ favorite hangout.
