Distance - 26.5 Miles

Every year the Corridor Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) (Cedar Rapids Metro) holds a bike ride to tour our local communities and attractions. We pay special attention to new and upcoming trails and bikeways. This year we will be heading down to Ely from NewBo City Market, 26.5 miles total. We will make stops at:
  1. 9 AM Registration – Everyone will get a free trail map.
  2. 930 AM We RIDE!
  3. 955 AM Cedar Lake – Councilmen Dale Todd speaking on the future of Cedar Lake and his efforts to “Connect CR”
  4. 1030 AM Sleeping Giant Trail Bridge – Community activist and retired Councilmen Steve Sovern speaking on his efforts to create a signature trail bridge across the Cedar River, also part of the Connect CR initiative
  5. 1150 AM Trail to Solon at Seven Sisters Road - Randy Burke (Linn County Conservation Trail Planner) will discuss the future of the Cedar Valley Nature Trail south to Solon
  6. Dan and Debbie’s’ – 12:15 PM – Hour Lunch
  7. Lion Bridge Brewery/Bike Swap – 2:15 PM – Ride is Complete
The ride is at a moderate family-friendly pace. This year nearly all of the 26 miles of the ride are on low-stress flat trails.
