UPDATE (Wed 1/3, 2:30 p.m.):

Tonight's Kyle's Bikes Wednesday Night Ride is cancelled. Sorry!

We don't have a Wind Chill Warning, only a Wind Chill Advisory. However, we reached out to a bunch of our regulars for their opinion. Among the "no" responses, the three most enthusiastic positive responses were "maybe," "50/50," and "I would not be upset if it was cancelled."

Here's hoping everyone has their trainer set up and can get a good workout in tonight. Let's hope for pleasant weather next week!

Mark yourself as Interested on our Facebook event if you want to participate in weekly discussions.

UPDATE (Tues 1/2):
Keep an eye on the weather and on this event for tomorrow night's ride!
If it's merely cold, we will ride. If the National Weather Service issues a Wind Chill Warning (or other similar "risk of death" type warning) we will cancel.

Yes, there is "no such thing as bad weather, just bad gear," and we are more than happy to sell you some good gear… but "brutal" conditions are not something we want to encourage to go out in when you don't need to!

As always, we will make the official "go, no go" update here and on the Kyle's Bikes Facebook page on Wednesday afternoon.

Kyle loves mountain biking. And mountain biking is fun. So for the fall and winter, the Kyle's Bikes Wednesday Night Ride is a mountain bike ride on Sycamore Trail!

Meet us in the north gravel lot off 66th Avenue at 7:30 p.m. We will roll out at 7:45. (You can park in the gravel lot. Or you can park in the paved Neal Smith Trail lot on the east side of the river and ride the new protected bike/ped trail on the bridge.)

The pace will vary depending on who shows up. We may split into smaller groups if the group is large or there is a significant difference in paces. We vary the route a little each time, but regardless of route, we regroup at the following points:

  1. Double Track (by the gravel pit)
  2. Fish Camp (confluence of Beaver Creek and Des Moines River)
  3. Turnaround* (the paved Trestle to Trestle Trail)
  4. Fish Camp
  5. Double Track

*There is always an option for those who want to to take the paved trail down to South Syc. We can chat about it during the regroup. Due to time crunch for most on a weeknight, the main group heads back north.

If you've not ridden at Sycamore before and are concerned about getting lost, find Katherine, Kyer, or Kyle before the ride and let them know. We can find you a buddy. :-) We don't want to lose anyone!

BRING LIGHTS. Running into things is *not* fun.

We do not ride wet trails. Nor during blizzards. Watch our Facebook page carefully for updates.
