Gravel

Distance - 105/63/17 miles

The Tipton Chamber of Commerce is presenting a gravel road bike race in conjunction with the Chamber's Food and music fest.  This will be an all day event full of  bacon, good treats, beer, and crushing gravel.  The race will begin and end in downtown Tipton where the festivities will be occurring.

Route

The gravel road racing will take place entirely in Cedar County taking in the varied terrain and scenic gravel roads. 3 different lengths will be offered: a 17,a 63, and a 105.  The 17 will be easier because of the length, but will still take in some of the scenic hills toward the end of the long route. The 63 miler will make a long loop through Northern and eastern cedar county with a checkpoint about 1/2 way near Clarence and a finish in Tipton. Those up for the challenge of the 105 will experience approximately 4000 ft of climbing through the hills, farmland, and river bottoms of cedar county. The route will feature a figure 8 design with the same check points as the 63 miler plus a stop in tipton and maybe a couple "unofficial" rest stops.  There will be no mud roads, a help wagon, prize money, swag, beer, random prizes for lucky participants and a darn good time for riders and support crew.
