Meeting

Distance - Unknown

So you’ve heard about the super athletes that ride the Tour Divide Race, but have you ever thought about riding it (or even part of it)…. just for fun….as a vacation?

Dave Puffer did just that. Last fall, he and a friend went to Banff, Canada and took off on the trail…. Just for fun! They rode just the first half – saving the rest for another time.

Please join us for our next club meeting (Feb. 13th at Felix and Oscar’s 6pm) and find out what it takes, and what you need, to do a fun ride on the majestic Great Divide Mountain Bike Route (the longest mapped off road mountain bicycle route in the world). Dave has it all broken down on what you’ll need and what to expect, along with beautiful photographs to ent...ice you! Even if something like this isn’t on your radar, you’ll still enjoy hearing about Dave’s trip - you won’t want to miss this exciting night!

David Puffer is a sales associate at our Urbandale location. Dave has been in the bicycle industry in some capacity (owner, mechanic, sales) over the past 30 years. It all started back in California where he used to race mountain bikes and would hang out with some of the industry pioneers including Tom Ritchey (founder of Ritchey Design), Joe Breeze (founder of Breezer Bikes) and Scott Nicol (founder of Ibis Cycles). After a career in the medical field, Dave and his wife moved to northeast Iowa and opened a bicycle shop in Cresco, Iowa (Cresco Bicycles). He still has the same passion for bicycles that he has had over the past 30 years. His latest bicycle journey took him over 1,500 miles of the Continental Divide (the longest mapped off road mountain bicycle route in the world).
