Distance - Unknown
We need your to help explore ideas to make getting around downtown Des Moines feel safer, more comfortable, and convenient. Improving access to and within downtown—regardless of whether you walk, bike, drive, or take transit—will attract more residents and businesses to the downtown core. Learn more about the Connect Downtown project and join the discussion by coming to one of our open house events.
The noon and 6 pm events will kick-off with an engaging presentation by Jeff Speck, author of Walkable City, on the wide-ranging benefits of and strategies for enhancing Des Moines mobiity and walkability. The project team will introduce the Connect Downtown project and present preliminary findings documenting existing challenges and opportunities. There will be time for questions as well as a mapping activity where members of the public can share their perspectives on issues to address with this plan.
