This will be the first of it's kind for World of Bikes. We have lassoed our own Andrea Cohen, a Salsa Cycles rider, dirt-bag bike camper, and an actual educator of bike touring to lead our first bike camping clinic. There are plenty of places to explore to by bicycle just outside of Iowa City and we want you to come with. Maybe you have some camping stuff, hopefully you have a bike (we do have rentals here), but you must have an open mind and be ready for some adventure. This clinic will be in preparation for the World of Bikes Sub 24-Hour camping trip on August 13th to Lake MacBride wolf campsites.
WHAT TO EXPECT:
Andrea will lead you step-by-step through her personal preparation for bike-camping trips. The bikes will be talked about. The different bag set-ups will be there to check out. How to create a map and time line. How to pack food and water will be covered. You can bring any bicycles, gear, or tools you may want to attempt to strap to said bicycles. There will be plenty of time for questions and hands-on practice packing and unpacking.
This clinic is geared towards every type of rider. The camping trips that World of Bikes will lead are no-drop and set at a casual pace. That being said the pace will be at a minimum 10 mph average. That includes stops and hang-outs. This is not to scare anyone away, it is just to keep us on time with the day. We will not leave you behind if you are stuck though, the average pace is just that, an average. We can make up for it the next morning :-) .

This will guarantee that we will hopefully have enough beer for everyone. There will most definitely be swag to take home and a shop wide discount for gear.
