Norm Needs, known as Chrome Dome on Ragbrai, died Saturday in a tragic one bicycle accident.
What better way to honor his memory than taking a ride on the River Road, which is where he lived and rode all the time.
We will ride to either the 6 mile corner or all the way to the site where the ghost bike will be placed. The ride will be supported with a couple of "safety stops".
We plan to return to town in time to attend the visitation, dressed just as we are.
The family really wants to meet Norm's biking friends and hear some wonderful stories.
Following the visitation, everyone is invited to the Brightside Lounge for some snacks, toasts, storytelling, etc.
The visitation is from 3-8 p.m. at the Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee.
