Part 2 from above
the menu only to find out that the kitchen had closed early! Perry Burger King here we come :(
Summary
Bars: I'd give a 4 star for atmosphere and the wait staff were friendly in spite of the fact that there was no food
Ride: I'm sure the Sunday Funday is beautiful and you wouldn't have the problems we had above...I'd for sure want to give it a try. As far as the Full Moon Ride...I'd give it a 2 or 3 due to the safety issues I could foresee.
Recommendations: Make sure you stay alert and sober. Invest in a GOOD bike light that illuminates quite a distance and be especially careful for pedestrians, esp within a mile on either side of the bridge.

This was our first time doing the Full Moon ride. We had HIGH expectations...took a group of about 7 people. We started in Woodward and first stopped at the Whistlin Donkey. Nice bar, friendly wait staff. Ordered a Blue Moon, but they thought they were out (side note...when we stopped on the way back, they had found a new keg). The food looked great, but we thought, we are early in the ride, so we will stop in Madrid, have a couple of drinks there and eat. Started out on the trail......we completely underestimated just how dark it would be...Mental note, be sure you have a helmet in case of crashes and invest in the more expensive bike light! You definitely have to be VERY alert along the trail. I was surprised how many pedestrians are walking along the trail at night, the majority with no lighting whatsoever. I am surprised there have not been bike vs. pedestrian accidents. Mental note....if you are planning on walking on a dark trail with a bike event going on, have some sort of reflective clothing or light source for your own safety and DON'T DRESS IN ALL DARK COLORS. When we got to the Flat Tire, we thought "super cool" atmosphere. The bar itself is really unique with a bike friendly theme. They even have a air pump station out front. By this time, we were STARVING! The little food shack was only making pizza for a HUGE sorority party that was just arriving. We asked if they could cook us one of those frozen cardboard pizzas that they had a sign advertising, we were told "we've got a bus coming in and we can't be making a pizza". Staff was friendly, though. There was also supposed to be a band there, but apparently had finished up earlier. I believe we were there probably by 8:30p. No problem....we're pretty hungry now and figure we'll head back to Whistlin Donkey for some of that yummy looking food. We also had a few beers on an empty stomach.....just adding to the safety factor. When we got back to the Whistlin Donkey, immediately grabbed t
