Cyclocross season is certainly here! 95-ish crossers showed up as we ran the course at Stone Park again. Longer laps and a longer run-up had most folks gasping for air at the end of 40 minutes. Good Stuff!
We are burning in a good course, but alwasy mix it up a bit each week.
CROSS TIP: Hone your skills - Take your cross bike on one of the local single-track mountain bike trails. You'll focus on the corners differently with the skinnier tires and learn to power through them.
THANKS to all who helped set up, tear down. We had quite the hecker hill run-up! We once again had a nice turnout at Mullets afterwards for beers and grub!
See you all at Capital City Cross on Sat and Sun!
Good News! - We partnered with the City of Des Moines to rent a 6000 pound roller to smooth out the race course for Capital City Cross on Sept 24th and 25th. Feel free to use the park anytime to practice on your own.
Obviously it won't be "pavement smooth", but it shouldn't rattle your cage like last week...
