Oakley Night Cap Cross 10/15/2010

WOW! What a night folks!! 160 Racers at a night cross race! WOW! A band in the middle of the course, an electrifying atmosphere, a great venue, and it all came together in 3 weeks!

Sorry for the delayed results. It was short fast laps, and difficult to officiate!I can attest that none of us wanted to officiate the first racer with 99 racers! Thanks to Jeff Mertz and Bill Hardin for officiating the 1st annual Night Cap Cross. And thanks to the Derby Dame Gals for helping count numbers. I can see some of the team names are off as we downloaded from the USA cycling site.

Prizes were provided to all race categories, they sponsored the Night Cap shirts and offered up some great swag!!Miller Lite - As Proud Supporter of the Iowa Biking Culture, Miller Lite was looking for a grass roots event, and this was certainly it!! Their support LIT up the course and made sure the band was in a kick-ass spot!

Mullets - After a couple of Renegade Practices got rained out, Mullets offered up their land which opened up a brand new venue to cyclocross. When the night Marshalltown race got cancelled, we propositioned Mullets for a night Cross race and Ed & Bruno said "Hell Yeah!". The rest is history!Thanks to Ed and Bruno for your continued support!!!

Mike Shumway & Brad Bach - Experienced, capable, financial advisors from Principal Financial Group helping individuals and businesses set and achieve their financial goals. They were the main sponsors for the Men's 1/2/3 Race. They were the official cowbell and spoke-card sponsor and were responsible for the Oakley Night Cap design and posters.

Saturday Mfg - Brian nailed a sweet logo for the event which led to shirts, posters and spoke-cards.Thanks for his impressive work Brian!!

BIKEIOWA.com - The BIKEIOWA Cycling Team sponsored the Woman's 1/2/3 race, and helped co-promote the event!

Once results are finalized, we still have lots of prizes to give! Stay Tuned. All cash prizes were awarded the evening of the event.

If you are a Top 3 winner in a category other than 1/2/3 (Men's & Woman's), we got some Oakley prizes and gift certificates from Mullets for you! We will be in contact!

Thanks everyone for your patience, it has taken a good number of hours to evaluate the results to try to be as accurate as possible.
Results are officially posted as of 10:45 PM October 20, 2010. The results will become official 72 hours after this posting.

If a change is made following a protest, the results will be official 24 hours after the follow up post, but not before the 72 hours originally posted has elapsed.
