We've gotten several questions about series eligibility. The rules state (See http://www.bikeiowa.com/Cross/page/SCHEELS-Central-Iowa-Cyclocross-Series.aspx) that you must have completed in at least six of the eight races in the series in order to be eligible for series awards. The reason for this rule is to encourage people to come out for the races! Does it make it harder? Sure it does. But you know what? It's cyclocross. It's supposed to be HARD!
The one minor interpretation that we've had to make applies to people that have raced in multiple classes. In those cases, if you raced on a given day, regardless of the class, it will count as one of the six races dates you need to become eligible for series awards. You will still only get points in classes/races where you placed in the top ten. But, as long as you race on six of the eight series dates, you will be series eligible.
I've updated the series standings to reflect participation where racers did not earn points by entering a zero in that column. Please check my work. http://tinyurl.com/ylrf4xk
We are planning to do series awards after the last race on Sunday. See you all this weekend!
